Consistent time with your kids.
Pathways Family Law is committed to keeping fathers involved in their children’s lives so that children grow up with the love and support of both parents. We help unmarried parents who are ending their relationship create clear agreements about custody, timesharing, and child support while reducing conflict.
Parental Rights
When unmarried parents in Florida are ending a relationship, parental rights and responsibilities are often not yet legally established. Informal co-parenting arrangements can become difficult to navigate and may negatively impact your children. Our approach helps you reach agreement on an enforceable parenting plan that protects your children and your role in their life.
Moments That Matter
Informal timesharing arrangements can become inconsistent and affect your ability to be there for the moments that matter. If you want to create predictability and protect your relationship with your children, schedule a Parental Rights Review today.

FAQs
Answers to common questions
What happens in a Parental Rights Review?
In your Parental Rights Review you'll spend 45 minutes on a virtual consultation call with an attorney who will listen, explain how Florida law applies to you, and give you a clear picture of your options. You will leave knowing exactly what to do next.
How do I protect my role without rocking the boat?
Many dads fear becoming like a distant relative in their child's life. The longer that continues without a legal structure in place, the more it can become your child's reality. Florida law provides a straightforward path for protecting your role that doesn't require confict.
Why not keep our informal parenting arrangement?
In our experience, informal arrangements work until they don't. Without legally established paternity, you may not have enforceable rights if things change. A new relationship, a move, or a shift in cooperation can leave you without guaranteed time or decision-making authority. Parental rights and a parenting plan protect your bond and secure your place in your child's life.
Do I have options for more structure without court?
We help build solutions parents can agree to without court. Where possible, we facilitate conversation with you and the other parent to reach an agreement. If you don't agree, Florida typically requires mediation before court. A mediator can't give legal advice, so having us in your corner if mediation becomes necessary means your rights are protected without escalating conflict.
How does pursuing time-sharing affect child support?
Florida follows a statutory formula based on time-sharing and both parents' income. Without a formal agreement, many dads have inconsistent time-sharing and unpredictable payments based on the other parent's discretion or request. Formal agreements replace guesswork with consistent numbers so you can plan financially and build your future.
What's included in the flat fee and how does it work?
Our flat fee covers all of our legal work from the beginning through filing of final documents so you know exactly what you're paying. This includes building a parenting plan and facilitating agreement with the other parent when possible. Filing fees are not included but you won't have any hourly billing or suprises, so you can relax and stop watching the clock.
